Assumptions this calculator makes

  • Results are estimates based only on the numbers you enter.
  • Revenue is treated as a monthly average and is not guaranteed.
  • The platform percentage covers cuts taken by the platform or network.
  • Expenses include tools, software, gear amortized as you choose, and production costs you enter.
  • Hourly rate counts creation, editing, and promotion time you report.
  • The tax set-aside percentage is an optional planning placeholder, not tax advice.

This is an estimate, not advice

Every result here is a rough model based only on the numbers you enter. Sidequity is an informational tool and does not provide professional, tax, legal, investment, or financial advice, and it makes no income guarantees. Any tax set-aside is a planning placeholder, not a tax calculation.

For decisions that affect your money, taxes, or business, review your situation with a qualified professional. See our full disclaimer.

Frequently asked questions

What counts as creator income here?

Whatever monthly revenue you expect from your content, such as ad revenue, sponsorships, memberships, tips, or product sales. Enter a combined monthly figure or your best estimate; the calculator then removes platform cuts and expenses.

How should I handle irregular income?

Creator income is often uneven. Use a conservative monthly average rather than your best month. You can run the calculator a second time with a lower number to see a cautious scenario alongside an optimistic one.

Does this include equipment costs?

Only what you enter as expenses. If you want to account for gear, you can spread its cost across months yourself and add that amount to monthly expenses. The tool does not assume any equipment cost on its own.
